FROM A PRESS RELEASE

RTP --  The Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) today announced that Howard Anderson, founding partner and senior managing director, YankeeTek Ventures, will deliver the keynote address at CED's Research Triangle InfoTech 2002 in Research Triangle Park, NC, on October 30, 2002.

The keynote presentation will take place at the Sheraton Imperial in RTP on October 30 at 8:30 a.m.

Anderson, founder and president of The Yankee Group, the leading communications analysis firm in the United States, has 30 years of experience in the operations of a high-technology market research firm. He is also a co-founder of Battery Ventures, a venture capital firm in the Boston area, and most recently, YankeeTek, an incubator of high-tech ventures in Cambridge. Additionally, he is the William Porter Distinguished Lecturer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Sloan School of Management.

"We're thrilled to have such a distinguished speaker," said Chris Austen of Southeast Interactive Technology Funds, and InfoTech 2002 co-chair in a press release. "Howard brings a wealth of experience both as an entrepreneur and investor, as founder and long-time CEO of well-known industry research firm Yankee Group and founder of industry powerhouse Battery Ventures, his broad perspective should be right on target for this audience."

Presented by CED in partnership with The IndUS Entrepreneurs (TiE) Carolinas and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's Kenan-Flagler Business School, the conference will spotlight some of the best of North Carolina's multi-billion dollar IT industry as twenty companies demo their cutting-edge technologies. Last year, CED's InfoTech 2001 drew close to 900.
